Walt Disney’s Pinocchio

So you probably think you know Pinocchio. After all, he’s been around for 70 years.
But now Pinocchio’s dream to be a real little boy can be seen like never before with the release of the 70th Anniversary Platinum Edition of Walt Disney’s© original classic, Pinocchio, for the first time on 2-disc Blu-ray™ Hi-Def. (March 10th, 2009) That all sounds really fancy for a little wooden puppet, but in the magical land of Disney, where wishes come true, it’s no wonder that they’ve gone to the trouble of restoring the classic movie and adding bonus features that unlock the doors to the magical world of Pinocchio – not to mention including an alternate ending and deleted scenes.
The classic themes of Pinocchio are still true today, and valuable lessons for our nieces and nephews. Their dreams can come true! Plus, they learn virtues like bravery, loyalty and honesty – all merits Pinocchio needed to learn to become a real boy.
Of course, this special 2-Disc Blu-ray™ includes all the other classic characters: Geppetto the puppet maker, the Blue Fairy, and the fast-talking, wisecracking Jiminy Cricket. Did you know that Pinocchio is where Jiminy Cricket made his debut? He starred in many Disney classics after that.
This edition of the movie also contains the Disney Song Selection, which enables you to see the lyrics of the movie’s songs so you and your nieces and nephews can sing along to songs like “When you Wish Upon A Star,” which won the Academy Award©. It’s also got Pinocchio’s Matter of Facts where kids can learn fun facts about Pinocchio and other related subjects while watching the movie. And there's audio commentary with Leonard Maltin, Eric Goldberg and J. B. Kaufman. And on Disc 2, you’ll find No Strings Attached: The Making of Pinocchio where viewers can witness the behind-the scenes magic that transformed Carlo Collodi’s popular book into a classic animated film.
What we love about the 70th Anniversary Platinum edition of Walt Disney’s Pinocchio is how our nieces and nephews can experience the themes of the movie while watching it, after it’s over, and even before. Here’s a sneak peek.
